We can make custom billet steel or aluminum connecting rods for performance diesel applications. Design & programming is extra one time fee if its something we don’t have. Some rods are sold exclusively through a private label dealer only.
Rods are made with 100% highest quality custom heat treated USA billet chromoly tungsten steel or aircraft quality aluminum to withstand extreme horsepower ratings. Most incorporate 4 ARP 2000 clamping bolts where design allows.
What makes or billet connecting rods better and stronger that the rest?
Our billet rods are made of tungsten steel.Of all the metals, tungsten reigns supreme in terms of tensile strength. Coming in at an ultimate strength of 1510 Megapascals, tungsten is one of the toughest metals known to man. Besides tungsten’s superior strength, the metal also has the highest melting point of any unalloyed metal.
All rods are case hardened. It will yield dual properties not typically achievable with other grades of high strength steel. These dual properties combine higher core strength and a high wear resistant surface.
All rods are individually shot peened. Shot peening is a cold working process used to finish metal parts to prevent fatigue and stress corrosion failures and prolong product life for the part. In shot peening, small spherical shot bombards the surface of the part to be finished. The shot acts like a peen hammer, dimpling the surface and causing compression stresses under the dimple. As the media continues to strike the part, it forms multiple overlapping dimples throughout the metal surface being treated. The surface compression stress strengthens the metal, ensuring that the finished part will resist fatigue failures, corrosion fatigue and cracking, and galling and erosion from cavitation.
All rods incorporate ARP 2000 rod bolts or ARP L19 rod bolts in our larger rods.
