Any Special Maintenance Issues On High Performance Engines

Some high horsepower performance engines require extra attention. They are not like your normal daily driver engines. These engines are built with high quality parts but they are under much more stress when producing the horsepower they do.

Oil & filter should be changed every 2500 miles.

Valve lash should be set every 2500 miles.

On solid lift applications the valve springs and lifters should be removed and checked every 7500 miles
This is very critical on solid roller lift applications and failure to do so could result in serious engine damage.

On Solid Roller applications try to avoid log periods of engine idle.

Whats the Benifit to Engine Balancing?

Engine Computer Balancing

You wouldn’t drive you car without balanced tires so why build and engine without balancing it ?
It’s money well spent for a long lasting engine with better fuel economy and more power.

What is Align Hone Block?

Alighn Hone Engine

Ever wondered what  “Align Hone ” block means. This is where the main bearings are, and where the crankshaft sits in the block. Each engine has a specific size that these holes need to be When they are out of size, each main cap is cut, making the hole then smaller.  A long honing mandrel with pressure is used to hone these holes back out round to the OEM size. If these hole size aren’t correct, then the oil clearance isn’t correct, and there will be engine damage.
